Yes! We are meeting together in the church building again!
As it says in 1 Corinthians 10:23: “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.” (NIV)
We’re doing what we can to reduce risk to our people, especially the more at risk members. Yes, we may even change things!
For those unable or choosing not to attend we are continuing to stream the Sunday service. The Sunday service will be online on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WestUnionChristianChurch/ It may be watched at a later time as well. We’re looking into ways to improve and hope to make the online service better in the future
We have changed how we do things to keep each other safe. People are wearing masks if they desire (it is recommended but left to the individual to decide). We have sanitizer dispensers at the entrances, are using prepackaged communion elements (receive yours as you enter. It will be handed to you), we’re sitting every other pew, not passing offering plates (there is a basket you may put your offering in at the entrance), just doing many small things just to reduce the risk. For instance we are dismissing like a wedding or funeral with each row dismissed to minimize crowding at the exit.
Yes, we are sitting every other pew. We have marked off every other one. Also we ask you not sit directly in front of others if possible. We are singing as a congregation and it is just one more thing to do for your own safety.
We are not having any other meetings in the church except Sunday morning worship. The building is to be considered closed except for pre-approved use and for work by maintenance and cleaning personnel.
We hope to soon be have Junior Church and Sunday School. But we also want to be considerate of others and wise in our choices.
